ARC Volunteers Celebrate Decade of Community Spirit at Dawson Creek Rodeo

Better at Home Wagon Night Marks 10 Years of Connection for Local Seniors

ARC volunteers recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Better at Home Wagon Night for seniors at the Dawson Creek Rodeo. Held annually, this cherished event brings together local seniors for an evening filled with horse racing, good food, and lasting memories.

This year’s milestone gathering saw 75 members from The Better at Home Program and 19 members from Rotary Manor welcomed as special guests. Attendees were treated to a memorable rodeo experience, complete with horse races and community connection. To make the evening even more enjoyable, ARC provided a delicious picnic supper, cowboy hats and seat cushions for all our guests.

"For many seniors, the night offers more than just entertainment; it’s an opportunity to connect with the community while feeling appreciated and supported. The event’s ongoing success is a testament to the dedication of ARC’s volunteer team, who put their hearts into creating a memorable evening for our community’s seniors.”

The Better at Home Wagon Night has become a beloved tradition for both ARC employees and the seniors attending. Over the past 10 years, ARC volunteers have hosted close to 800 seniors, providing not only transportation and admission but also supper and treats—making every detail special for those in attendance.
