2023 ESG performance update now available
Our ESG Performance Update provides an overview of ARC’s 2022 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, highlighting key metrics, initiatives, and accomplishments from January 1 to December 31, 2022.
As the world continued to experience rapid change, ARC maintained its focus on responsible energy development, safe operations, and emissions reductions, while supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, contributing to communities, enhancing Indigenous engagement, and pursuing opportunities to connect Canadian natural gas to global markets.
ESG Performance Highlights
Environment
- Top-quartile GHG emissions intensity producer
- 8% reduction in GHG emissions intensity from 2019 baseline
- Achieved our 20% methane emissions intensity reduction target from 2019 baseline
Social
- Outstanding safety performance
- Approximately $3 million donated to community organizations
- 275 leaders and employees completed Indigenous cultural awareness training
Governance
- 36% of directors and 33% of the executive were women
- Completed a thorough review of Board and Committee ESG oversight responsibilities
- Redesigned compensation program to assign ESG metrics to short and long-term incentive programs
