Celebrating safety excellence

At ARC, we believe that how we work is just as important as the work itself. No matter what project we undertake, safety is always our #1 priority. Our goal is to ensure ‘Zero Harm’ on our worksites. Through comprehensive systems, programs, and standards we have nurtured a safety culture that places people at the heart of our approach to workplace health and safety.

In 2023, ARC launched the Safety Excellence Award to help reinforce our culture of caring and acknowledge our frontline safety leaders for their contributions to our strong safety performance. The award recognizes outstanding individuals or entire teams who exemplify the behaviors that advance safety within the Company. Recipients are nominated by their peers or leader for demonstrating safety leadership across the four key areas of our safety culture:

  • Care – We care about our teammates, our organization, and our reputation. We look out for one another every day.
  • Commit – We take pride in our work, have a high sense of ownership, and we do not compromise on our goals.
  • Collaborate – We work with others across the organization to improve, learn, and create sustainable solutions.
  • Improve – We are never satisfied with the status quo. We relentlessly strive to improve in all aspects of our work.

We empower our employees and contractors to be safety leaders by encouraging constant vigilance and the authority to stop work if they identify a potential hazard. At the end of the day, we all own safety. From the field to the office, we work together as a team to keep each other safe.

To date, three individuals have received the golden hardhat for their efforts enhancing collaboration during concurrent operations, advancing practical solutions to continuously improve how we work, and reducing risk in our operations.

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Armin Jahangiri, presented the awards and personally thanked the winners for their commitment to advancing safety at ARC. Recipients are also profiled within the company to recognize their achievements and inspire colleagues to think about how they can reinforce safety in their own role.
