ARC students lead impactful Day of Caring

Students raise more than $4,200 and deliver fun-filled celebration for children at The PREP Society

Through our summer student program, recent graduates and post-secondary students have the opportunity to develop practical skills over the course of the summer in a variety of fields. Students work on projects that support ARC’s business and their own professional growth. This includes planning and bringing to life a community project for a cause they care about.

This year, 20 students came together for ARC’s annual student-led Day of Caring. The Day of Caring is a key part of ARC’s student program, which provides students the opportunity to volunteer and raise funds for a local organization. Students collaborate in teams to select an organization that aligns with ARC’s core values and then present their proposal to ARC leaders and the student team.

For summer 2025, they chose to support The PREP Society, a nonprofit organization that provides educational and therapy services to children with Down Syndrome. Over the course of a six-week campaign, our students raised more than $4,200 in support of PREP.

“Volunteering at PREP for our Day of Caring was incredibly rewarding. It was amazing to see how our contributions like cleaning classrooms or helping with the BBQ could make a meaningful difference. Being part of a team that’s committed to giving back reminded me how important it is to support the communities we’re part of.”

On the Day of Caring, students volunteered onsite by helping with classroom improvements, building a new shed, patching walls, and preparing for PREP’s annual BBQ. They also hosted a fun-filled afternoon of carnival-style activities, handed out treats, and served food to families and guests.

The event was a rewarding opportunity to give back, connect with the community, and support a truly meaningful cause.
