Long-term partnerships that create long-lasting impacts are at the heart of our community giving efforts.
Three years ago, ARC joined Alberta’s fight against cancer as a Northern Lights Sponsor of the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer. The annual two-day event is the largest cycling fundraiser in the province and helps to raise important funds to support the quest for a cancer-free future.
In true ARC fashion, our passionate people whole-heartedly embraced the opportunity to support a cause that has impacted so many, and this year the team once again exceeded their initial $150,000 fundraising goal, raising an incredible $272,396, and bringing our three-year total contribution to more than $610,000.
Our culture of high-performance strives for continuous improvement across our business. Whether we are producing Canadian energy or giving back to our communities – we strive to do our best and deliver even better performance year after year.
Since joining the tour, Team ARC has more than doubled in size, growing from 25 riders in 2023, to 50 in 2024, and 62 in 2025. The event offers a unique way to bring employees from across functions together and helps to build stronger relationships and a more connected workplace. It also provides an opportunity for friends and family to get involved and experience the energy of ARC first-hand.
From monthly Lunch & Learn sessions, where team members discuss cycling fundamentals, nutrition and training tips, to weekend team rides and fundraising events, where employees get ready for the big weekend – the team assembles, supports, and encourages each other every step of the way.
This year, the team also embraced several unique fundraising ideas to engage colleagues and help the team exceed its fundraising goal, including a hula-hoop competition and a spin-cycling class that included several members of ARC’s senior leadership team.
The 2025 ride weekend was another memorable event that inspired and challenged our riders and made an incredible contribution to support Albertans facing cancer. This year, more than 1,700 cyclists gathered in Strathmore, AB, where they set a new event record by raising over $9,400,000 through their collective efforts. These funds will go to directly support groundbreaking clinical trials, patient support programs and enhanced care at 17 Alberta cancer centres throughout the province and help the more than 24,000 Albertans who are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Despite the cloudy skies and occasional rain, Team ARC was all smiles as they braved the weather, conquered the hills, and honoured the brave Albertans facing a cancer journey.
ARC thanks each of our riders for stepping up for our communities, taking on this challenge, and providing more hope for Albertans facing cancer. A special thank you also goes out to our incredible team of volunteers who showed up this weekend to keep the energy high as they cheered the riders on to the finish line. We also extend a heart-felt thank you to everyone who donated and helped to make the 2025 Tour Alberta for Cancer an incredible success that will leave a lasting impact for years to come.
The Tour experience and the motivational stories shared by our riders continue to inspire more colleagues, friends, and family to sign up each year, enabling our team to raise more funds and make an even greater impact.
Year four, here we come!
