This week, we recognize the significance of Remembrance Day with donations totaling nearly $55,000 in communities near our operations. We are privileged to work in Alberta and British Columbia, with our employees actively giving back to causes that matter most to them, including honouring those who serve and have served our country.
In Grande Prairie, we donated to the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretative Centre in support of its annual Remembrance Day event to honour Indigenous veterans. On November 8, we participated in the Indigenous Veterans Memorial Service at the Veterans Memorial Gardens. We are privileged to be part of this annual event to recognize the important contributions made by First Nations, Inuit and Métis veterans in service to Canada.
In Dawson Creek, we contributed to the Dawson Creek Legion Branch 141 in support of events and programming for their members. This donation helps the legion with their goal of securing a permanent space for meetings and social activities.
Giving back is a core value at ARC, with our employees involved in initiatives that are meaningful to them. Chelsea Young, one of Dawson’s Field Office Coordinators, has been an active Legion member for the past 14 years. She has proudly served as flag bearer at the annual service for the past three years.
For over two decades, ARC has been a strong supporter of local food banks to help address critical food insecurity. This year, we donated to the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary for Remembrance Day. Local food banks offer valuable services and resources to veterans living in Calgary and the surrounding area, with 100 per cent of donations invested in veteran assistance services.
