Position Summary

To further enhance our focus on employee training and development, we are seeking an individual to lead and design ARC’s HSE training and development program.  This position will report directly to the Manager, HSER and will be accountable for the design and execution of the training function within the Operations and Production teams.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that ARC remains a leader in training and developing our staff, ensuring safe and efficient execution of our operations.  The incumbent will be passionate about training and development, posses’ exceptional organizational skills, has the ability to work with multiple stakeholders while still meeting project deadlines and has a solid understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute the HSE learning strategy for the operations and production teams in conjunction with managers, executives and SME’s
  • Work with leaders, managers, external vendors and other key stakeholders to assess key competency requirements and develop structure for training and development program
  • Develop and/or implement training processes and systems to ensure consistency, effective recording and tracking of training, record maintenance, etc
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ARC’s HSE learning management system
  • Coordinate and develop e-learning content with SME’s
  • Participate in ongoing training program evaluations and process improvement practices to ensure that programs are delivered efficiently, and participants experience a high-quality learning program that delivers desired outcomes
  • Develop and implement metrics and measures to evaluate training effectiveness
  • Facilitate learning sessions and events as required

Candidate Requirements:

The individual we seek will have a minimum 10 years of training and development experience in the Oil & Gas industry.  Consideration will also be given to candidates with a background in adult education.  In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Results focused – ability to identify needs and develop initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills and project management capabilities
