Junior Cloud Data Developer

We are currently seeking a Junior Cloud Data Developer to play an integral role in supporting real-time and batch processing data solutions. The work atmosphere is an open, fast-paced, team environment where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently, but also as part of a close-knit group.

  • Access to a wide range of technology solutions including Real Time Data Ingestion and Reporting, Traditional Batch Processing, Geospatial Data, Tabular Modelling, Power BI Premium, Events based processing
  • Collaboration and support with our Advanced Analytics team for AI/ML project activities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the development of real-time and batch processing solutions to ingest operational data and transform it for analytical and reporting purposes
  • Learn to support, navigate and manage a large enterprise data environment
  • Python scripting to manage large data flows using Pyspark within an Azure Databricks environment
  • SQL scripting including writing complex logic SQL statements, functions, triggers, and stored procedures
  • Automation of deployment processes
  • Adhere to development standards and protocols used at ARC, including data governance, change management, code review, unit testing and documentation
  • Work directly with Senior employees to learn, grow and become and independent Data Engineer
  • Learn and understand the business processes at ARC
  • Collaborate with other developers on each step in the implementation of data engineering projects.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical descriptions in terms the business can understand

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, or any IT and/or Business-related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Solid software engineering education and strong comprehension of data structures and algorithms (Proficiency in Python is required)
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Experience with version control systems (git)
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Additionally, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications that are preferred but not required:

  • Work experience building and deploying data engineering pipelines leveraging cloud technologies (databricks, Azure, AWS, GCP), preferably using Azure
  • Experience developing secure solutions by limiting access with Azure Active Directory leveraging identity management through service principles and group memberships
  • Foundational knowledge of Azure Data Engineering technology stacks
  • Experience working with semi-structured and unstructured databases
  • Experience with unit testing, continuous integration
  • Experience in Energy sector
