Estevan Gift Bags for Cancer Patients
In October 2007, Mary Lawrence, a Senior Office Coordinator at ARC’s Estevan office, read an article in the local newspaper about the number of cancer patients undergoing treatment in the region. Mary wanted to find a way to help the patients and brought the idea of creating gift bags to her colleagues at ARC. The Estevan office and ARC embraced the idea and worked together to assemble bags to be donated. The gift bags have now become an annual tradition.
“The bags are a way to support local women going through a difficult time. They are filled with items to help with some of the side effects of chemo. We hope they provide a little bit of pampering during their treatment.”
